If you’re experiencing issues while trying to update your plugin to the latest version, here are some common reasons and how to fix them.
The Update Isn’t Appearing in Dashboard → Updates
If you know a new version is available but it’s not showing up, check the following:
✅ Is Your License Key Active?
If you’ve changed domain names (e.g. moved from a development site to your live site), go to the plugin settings and re-enter or re-save your license key to activate it on the current domain.
🔁 Has Your Subscription Expired?
If your license was purchased over 12 months ago and hasn’t been renewed, your access to updates may have expired. You’ll need to renew or re-purchase to get access to updates.
🕒 Has the Update Just Been Released?
Sometimes updates take a little while to become available across all sites. If the release was recent, give it a little time and check again later.
“Automatic Update Is Unavailable for This Plugin”
This message means your license key is not active on your current domain.
Usually, this happens when:
- You’ve migrated your site to a new domain
- You originally activated the plugin on a staging or dev site
How to Fix It:
- Log in to your Nahnu Plugins Account
- Go to the Dashboard and go to the “Licenses” section. You can even click “View All” to view more if needed.
- Go to the “Activations” section
- Deactivate the old domain (if needed) and add your License Key to your current domain
Then, go back to your WordPress dashboard, and the update should appear.
Error: SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO (or Similar SSL Error)
This means your server is using an outdated version of OpenSSL.
How to Fix It:
- Ask your hosting provider or server admin to update OpenSSL
- If that’s not possible, contact our support team with your WordPress login details, and we’ll help activate the license manually.
Error: 403 Forbidden
This indicates that something on your site is blocking the plugin update—often caused by:
- A security plugin
- File/folder permission settings
